Welcome to the Tanzania Film Commission. TFC works under Tanzania Board of Tourism. Our task is to make sure all Filmmakers who want to shoot film, video and still pictures, have the best that Tanzania can offer. Our job is to help film makers to get permits, locations and filming resources throughout Tanzania.
Our aim is to share the beauty of nature to all film makers around the world, Tanzania is one of the best place that film maker will enjoy to shoot their film, historical, culture and wildlife, beautiful weather and wonderful people that are ready to welcome visitor in Tanzanian attitude.
We promise to work side by side with film makers to find the best location of their dream, from main land to island from the highest mountain to the deepest lake in Africa . We will host filmmakers on site location resource for personalized assistance when searching for location.
As with any country in the world Tanzania has immigration laws that need to be followed, we will do all the paper work for filmmakers from their visa to their work permit , we promise they will be save and protected all time during their shooting, moreover Tanzania is one of the peaceful country in the Africa.
As they say East or West home is the best so TFC has a plan and mission to work with local film maker to the world platform standards. The wisdom of workshops and seminars will keep local film maker up to date with the rest of the world.
TFC is always open for the local film maker to be registered in our database and this make easy for all film makers to be under one umbrella. This include film agents, local talent etc.
Tanzania is now working to become a member of Association of Film Commissions International.

This is our way to thank you for consideration of using our beautiful language in your future movie. Swahili is beautiful language that comes with wonderful history, from slave of dark continental to the free Africa. And if you need us to teach your actors we will be thrill to do so.
Swahili is a wonderful and interesting language; it’s the most widely spoken language in Africa. Its adaptableness has been seen over the last five centuries. Swahili incorporated Bantu, German, Arab, English, Portuguese and even bits of French into its grammar. Currently Swahili is spoken by well over 40 million Africans and counting.
Swahili is historical language in the late 1800’s; most African countries were still under colonial rule by European powers. As Germany colonized coast of East Africa, it took notice of the extensive use of Swahili, and make it an official language since was the language that was accepted by the native Swahili speaker says that Swahili was born in Zanzibar where was the port of entries for lots of foreigners in coast of east Africa, then Swahili grow up in Tanzania, where it has lots of speakers and then dead in Kenya where it has fewer people speak. The funeral was in Uganda where the language is for the soldiers and vendors are using it most of time.
Swahili people are having such a beautiful, colorful, culture, it a formal of art, the music it one of the kind just mixer of a lots of language that makes it easy to lean and understand. Lots of Europeans after the end of colonial era, they talk about it when they return back to Europe this language to be known.
Swahili had been translated into a written language, and people could begin to learn it in a systematic manner. The door was wide open when BBC began to feature, Voice of America just put ice on the cake, then Hollywood open the door to a wonderful language.
